Villa Truffle is a five-bedroom property located in Terres Basses, Saint Martin. Its clifftop placement offers a superior view of the Caribbean Sea and the island of Anguilla. As the main features of the property is on a single level, the villa has handicap access. Like its namesake, this villa radiates luxury with its floor-to-ceiling glass windows in the common area, ultra-modern decor, and an array of top-of-the range amenities. A lush tropical garden surrounds the property, and its well-maintained lawn is perfect for the kids to play on, while the adults watch them from the terrace, the swimming pool, or from the jacuzzi. With its close proximity to Marigot (the island’s capital), the beach, and the airport, on top of the great amenities offered by the place, guests of Villa Truffle are guaranteed to come back for the next holiday.

Bedrooms: Villa Truffle contains five bedrooms (all with ensuites) overall. Two rooms are located on the main floor, one of which is a children’s suite with a king-sized bed and additional bunk beds. They have direct access to the pool. On the lower level, two more bedrooms can be found. Guests can access the pool via a flight of stairs next to the outside wall. The fifth bedroom is located in its own cottage, close to the lower-level bedrooms. It has its own ensuite, kitchen, and private terrace.

Outdoors: The roofed terrace is furnished with a set of lounge chairs and a coffee table, a normal table-and chair set, and an alfresco dining table that seats eight people. It then transitions into a heated 5m by 10m swimming pool, with wooden decks. Sun chairs are placed nearby for the guests to use. Further to the right, there is a gazebo that houses a fire pit, a jacuzzi, and an outdoor shower. To the left is a private terrace and sundeck of one bedroom, and also a flight of stairs that reach the lower level. The rest of the area is made of a lush, well-manicured lawn. On the edges of the property tropical trees and plants fill the spaces, to increase privacy. The two lower-level bedrooms also have their own private terrace and lawn area.

Indoors: As you walk into the villa entrance, the door on your right leads to a bedroom. On your left, there’s a doorway to the joint living and dining area. As you walk in, there is another doorway that leads to the professional-level kitchen. The appliances in the kitchen area are of a calibre that chefs use, such as gas cooktops with an extractor fan, an oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, a commercial refrigerator and more. The set of plush couches in the living area faces away from the pool and towards the wall. The projector TV will play shows and movies on that same wall, after the blinds are automatically pulled down by the system. As you walk ahead, there is a doorway that leads to an office that could also double as a playroom, complete with hidden toy cabinet. The living/dining area and office are fitted with floor-to-ceiling glass, maximizing the views of the pool and the blue sea.

Staff Quarters: The estate is secured with an electric gate. The terrace is fitted with an outdoor sound system. A concierge is there to assist you with logistical enquiries, and calling maintenance services if any equipment needs fixing. The gardener maintains the tropical garden and lawn. Upon arrival at Villa Truffle, guests are given a welcome basket, put together by the villa’s staff. Sheets, towels, and beach towels are regularly replaced. The rental payment also includes a rental car service, available for use to explore the island.

Location: Terres Basses is the most coveted area on the French half of Saint Martin, due to its close proximity to Marigot (15-minute car ride), the island’s capital, and Princess Juliana International Airport (also a 15-minute car ride). The beachfront villas are especially luxurious, as they usually have private access to a small stretch of the beach. The hilltop properties make up for their lack of immediate beach access with uninterrupted views of the Caribbean Sea, thanks to the higher ground. Villa Truffle is one such property. It takes a 5-minute car ride to the nearest beach. Restaurants and shops are a 10-minute drive from the villa.
