Sun House Makkari

Sun House Makkari is a contemporary Japanese home, just outside of Makkari Village in the heart of Makkari Mura in Hokkaido. A spacious holiday home, it features 5 beautiful bedrooms (with Japanese Kotatsu bedroom), a fully equipped contemporary kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 2 toilets, large open dining and living spaces, and a ski room. It offers mesmerising views of the surrounding natural landscapes. The design thoughtfully combines contemporary elements with traditional beauty to create a tranquil atmosphere. During winter, the lush green sceneries transform into a snowy haven, making the hills a perfect destination for winter activities. Rusutsu is 15 minutes by car while Niseko is 20 minutes drive away in the winter. The area offers ample restaurants as well as seasonal activities. This lovely home can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests, making it ideal for those looking to explore the Yotei region and beyond. It is also perfect for large group of friends and families holidaying together.

Bedrooms: It offers 5 cosy bedrooms in total, 3 upstairs and 2 downstairs, each with either twin or king configurations options, with Japanese Kotetsu room. The master room is upstairs and has its own ensuite bathroom, with toilet and shower while the 2nd and 3rd bedroom upstairs share a bathroom and separate toilet. Rooms on the upper floors enjoy views of Yotei to the north and Rusutsu Resort to the east. Meanwhile, the 2 remaining bedrooms downstairs (4th and 5th bedroom) have interconnecting door and share a bathroom and separate toilet. All the bathrooms have high end fixtures, premium toiletries, relaxing showers and vanities.

Outdoors: Upon entering the indoor area, you will be greeted by a Genkan (foyer) that will lead you to the main living spaces. Slipping on the provided slippers, you can make your way to the spacious open living area where you can relax on the comfortable sofa and enjoy a movie or two on the smart TV and sound bar. The modern fully equipped kitchen with appliances including a Nepresso machine, rice cooker, microwave oven, toaster, cutlery, and utensils makes meal preparation a breeze. The dining area, featuring a large dining table, is perfect for intimate dining or entertaining guests. Alternatively, you can also choose to have quick meals at the generously sized Island table that separates the dining space and the kitchen.

Indoors: Head outside to enjoy the picturesque sceneries of the surrounding nature – lush greeneries and mountains or the snow-covered mountains in the winter.

Staff Quarters: Our friendly and professional team will take care of all your need throughout the duration of your stay. They would gladly assist with on-demand requests such as babysitting/childcare, bookings, car rental, transfers and many more. For those driving here, there are 2 onsite parking available.

Location: Sun House Makkari is situated in a luxurious location that offers its guests a wide range of nearby activities and attractions, many of which are seasonal. The Village of Makkari, with its range of fabulous restaurants including the Michelin-rated, Maccarina! Is not too far away. Rusutsu is a short 10 minutes drive while it takes approximately 20 minutes by car to Niseko and Kutchan.
